Even though Cameron Vaux is the main character driving the plot of the story, Taylor Stone also has his hands on the steering wheel. Cameron lost the love of his life Jessie and is plagued with losing his memories of her and other things. His wife and his dad, (who suffered from memory loss) had mentioned a place and a book, Book of Days which recorded everyone’s past, present, and future deeds. Cameron began a quest to locate the book. He wished to know his own future and retain the memories of those he loved. While Cameron was a bit shaky on faith and if there was a God, Cameron remained open because Jessie had spoken of God quite often.

The book is about friendship and trust; who to trust and when to trust and the results of trusting.
Book of Days offers challenges to the reader to rethink questions we’ve all wondered about. On precarious paths literally and figuratively Rubart makes our reading journey full of mystery, teasing us with small clues about whether or not the Book of Days exists. He also brings danger for us to hold our breath against. I best loved the way the author portrayed mankind in the presence of a Holy God. Awesome read.

Truly one of the best books I've ever read! I love this author and highly recommend all of his books, especially this one! This book has everything-suspense, action, fantasy, true life reality, death and life, romance, mystery, life lessons, spiritual lessons, budding romance and long term marriage, heartbreak and healing, Mighty power of God and His immense love for us, lost souls and saved souls, friendship and family, victory and defeat And many life lessons-dealing w the past, how to start a new meaningful life, forgiveness sets us free, importance of forgiving ourselves and others, life lost and life found, letting go of the past to live in the present and enjoy a bright future, life is short compared to eternity, but what we do with this life is of great importance to us, those around us and to God! and so much more! This book is an amazing, thrilling ride lived out through the wonderful characters with the ride ending up with us and examining our own lives, our past present and future as well as eternity and our personal relationship with God! Fantastic book! Once again, I highly recommend this book and author!
Psalm 139 16 tells us that our days were all recorded in God's Book of Days before any of them came to be. The idea of the physical existence of such a book, with past, present and future histories of every man and woman written in it, is fascinating. As the characters in this story search for such a book, I was looking forward to getting stuck into it.

There is an Indiana Jones quest type feeling about it from the very start. The hero, Cameron Vaux, believes his wife and father found it when they young, but both have passed away. Cameron's father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease at a freakishly young age, and now Cameron feels his own memories slipping away at the tender age of 32. He enlists the help of Ann Banister, the foster sister of his dead wife, Jessie, to help him locate the Book.

Two men in their late fifties were the most intriguing characters. Jason Judah, the town's spiritual leader, has an intense, manic sort of desire to find this Book. Taylor Stone has had a history of a Midas touch since he was a High School boy, leading many to believe he knows more about the Book than he ever lets on. Interestingly, these two, who were childhood best friends, have a long history of enmity.

For the first half of the story, clues were as subtle as mosquitoes landing. Characters were acting as if they were going to reveal something significant, and at the end of each exchange, I wondered how they wriggled out of saying anything at all. I kept reading on, knowing there would be a big reveal at the end, but if I'd been in Cameron's shoes, I probably would have packed up and gone home. Maybe he was used to dealing with elusive people. The flashbacks of his talks with his wife, Jessie, before her death, showed her to be just as slippery.

The part which deals with the Book of Days was worth waiting for. I really liked the way the predestination/free choice conundrum was addressed in this story. And the humorous dialogue and ready dry wit of the characters, particularly Cameron and Taylor, made it fun to read. The red herring was pretty funny too.
I just finished Book Of Days and found it to be a very good read! It laid out a lively story line and flowed smoothly from beginning to end. I found it to be a poignant and moving book with a story that proceeded very quickly from the catastrophic memory crisis of the protagonist to the resolution of his issues. There is a lot of mystery as to the the identity of antagonist in the story and a good twist in the end. Again James Rubart walks through the Scriptural and theological doctrines of Christianity balancing predestination with free will. I found this book, like James' others, to be an edge of your seat read and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys solid Christian fiction. Once again James champions his key concept of living freedom in our lives!
