Drew and Jenny are meant to be. I laughed til I cried. With these two there was never a dull moment. Their little girl Veronica was Drew's mini me. Lol! When Jenny starts to suffer I thought maybe she had postpartum depression, I thought having Billy was really hard on her and then on top of that Drew wasn't any help. He didn't help her at all with the house or the kids and then goes and get a kitten and a puppy for her to take care of, on top of her having self esteem issues since the baby was born. I could feel her pain. And Drew is just a huge kid himself. I wanted to kick Drew's ass. I would definitely not have waited to say something to him. I would have been screaming it and he would have been sleeping outside. Lol. These three couples, Carter and Claire and Jim and Liz and Drew and Jenny are so much fun and they couldn't be more alike. I freakin love them! I want them to be my friends. Lol. All of them have such active open sex lives, not to mention Smokin Hot. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I have never laughed so hard while reading a series in my life and I FREAKIN LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! ;) I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!

Troubles and Treats Chocolate Lovers #3 edition by Tara Sivec Maxann Dobson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Sooo... after the success of the first two book from the Chocolate Lovers series, I naturally moved on to the 3rd part, but I was kind of disappointed.
This book doesn't deal with Claire and Carter anymore, but with Drew and Jenny, aka the "sexually deranged" couple from the Snacks and Seduction group. Well, turns out that the horny, BOB-using, ustensile-abusing, and kinky-effing two are having a drought.
I like the fact that Tara Sivec wanted to talk about a little more realistic issues such as couples going through a tough time after the birth of their second child and unequal chore distribution in the household instead of just picturing couple's lives as a giant panty-party (which was sometimes the case in the two first books).
And I knew what to expect the language had already been foul in Part 1 and 2; and Drew being Drew I knew it would be worse. But it was way worse than I expected. The language was over-foul, and the jokes too juvenile too fit with a couple who just had their second child. And not to mention the scenes and exchanges which were just over the top far-fetched and ridiculous. I am by far not a kill-joy and do enjoy crude humour but this was definitely too much.
And story-wise the book was also very annoying Drew and Jenny really acted like idiots and that was really unnerving. The end was OK, but a little too blue-eyed to be true...
I have already bought the book from the new series Love and Lists, which is remotely connected to Chocolate Lovers, but I sincerely hope the level is going up again, because for Troubles and Treats, the level was really in the gutter - sorry...
If you loved Drew and Jenny before, you are really going to love them now! Told in both Drew and Jenny's pov, Troubles and Treats is absolutely hilarious! Drew is still the t-shirt king, and Jenny still can't speak for crap, but they go together like peanut butter and jelly, like chocolate and strawberries, like rabbits and batteries. The story is set three years post Drew and Jenny's nuptials, and two spawn, Veronica (sexy name) and Billy (named after Billy Madison), now make their little family complete. But, there is trouble in paradise. Yes, "Whitney Houston, we have a problem." Jenny's libido is suffering and Drew tries his best to re-erect the magic.
What makes this book so special aside from being Drew and Jenny's story, is the reality of it. Anyone who has ever been married with children knows the lack of sleep and the lack of luster that accompanies it in the boudoir.
"When was the last time you guys had sex?" Claire asks.
"Um, what day is it today?"
"It's Saturday," Claire answers.
"Last year."
Once again, Tara has given us little tidbits on how to make life just a little bit better.
All of our favorite characters, Claire and Carter along with Jim and Liz, are there and funny as ever, all with children of their own. From the gut-busting banter between Gavin and Drew to the girlish man talk between Jim, Drew, and Carter; Tara has given the perfect ending to the series. Do Drew and Jenny ever get back their groove? Yes, they do, and they aren't shy about sharing their secrets to a happy marriage. They finally taste the rainbow, and the sexcapades they once knew return in full out hilarity and then some. Well done, Tara Sivec. I will miss this motley crew, and I only wish I could read of Gavin in his early adult years. *hint*
After the other two books, this was just an epic fail. It wasn't cute or funny, it was just disgusting. How can two adults be so stupid and juvenile? How? Fiction. Stupid fiction. And in this one, there are kids involved. I started to loathe Drew over how he acted when his wife was hurt even before I read what a jerk he was when she was pregnant and in delivery with Billy. I had to quit reading because I was so angry at both of them. All he does is make trouble and is unbelievably childish and selfish. And she puts up with it. It made me sick. This is not why I read books. I DON'T want to be upset. Think I may be done with this author. She shot her big one with the first book in this series like a one hit wonder!
